We took four days to drive down from the Georgian coastal town of Darien to Boca Raton, Florida, where my aunts and uncle live. We had a great meal in Darien (recommended by Tom from Macon) and went to beachy St. Simon’s Island.
Once we crossed the state line, we took Florida’s coastal highway, the A1A, most of the way. We stopped in St. Augustine, America’s oldest permanently settled city. We camped “stealth” for the first time by parking up the van in a public parking lot near the beach! Here are some pictures:
